Every day we are faced with many people and objects. And who can know what these “meetings” are fraught with and what threat they pose to our health.
Probably, in this world there are not many people who are unaware of the existence of microbes, therefore, each of us to a greater or lesser extent understands that washing hands is one of the main means against these invisible enemies.
But there are so dirty objects that most of us are forced to encounter every day that doctors recommend that we wash our hands thoroughly with soap and water every time we contact them, otherwise we run the risk of letting whole hordes of pathogenic bacteria into our bodies.
About ten such things will be discussed later.
10. Touch screen
When you use the touch screen for self-ordering in some fast-food restaurant, remember what you read about in this article.
Scientists warn: by touching such screens, you can easily get Listeria, Staphylococcus and many other pathogenic microorganisms as a “free bonus."
9. Menu in the restaurant
Just imagine how many hands go through such a menu. Experts say that the menu probably contains 100 times more pathogenic bacteria than under the rim of the toilet bowl.
Many visitors to such establishments add spices to their food, put sugar in coffee, but not everyone does it. But every visitor picks up the menu.
Of course, all this does not mean that you need to refuse the next trip to your favorite restaurant. After studying the menu, you just need to wash your hands well or at least treat with a bactericidal spray.
Remember, thorough hygiene is one of the most effective ways to prevent the entry of dangerous microorganisms into your body.
8. Handles of carts in a supermarket
People completely freely exchange pathogenic bacteria through the handles of a shopping cart or grocery basket.
Buyers do not think about the fact that touching such a dirty object, they carry hordes of microbes on their hands.
To protect your trip to the supermarket as much as possible, it is recommended to wipe it with special bactericidal napkins before using the basket.
7. Elevator buttons
With constant contact with a huge number of fingers, the elevator buttons can become a hotbed of bacteria, viruses and fungi. From the elevator button you can pick up ARVI or even flu.
If you prefer an exciting walk along the stairs riding in an elevator, then you should always have an antibacterial agent for disinfecting buttons.
6. ATM Keyboard
The keyboards of ATMs are literally colonized with dangerous microorganisms - from Escherichia coli to parasites, which can cause skin diseases.
Be careful: whenever you go to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash or make any other financial transactions, its keyboard may be contaminated with germs, which can also cause intestinal disorders or even sexually transmitted diseases.
By the way, to this day, the keyboard of an ATM is considered to be an absolutely unexplored environment of microbial communities.
5. Soap dispenser
Many people know that pathogenic microorganisms accumulate on the surface of bar soap, so even those of us who do not neglect the good habit of washing our hands run the risk of catching some sore.
Is there a way out? The answer is obvious - use liquid soap with a dispenser! But here is not so simple.
It turns out, according to the latest research by American experts, the soap dispenser in public toilets is one of the most polluted items for daily use. So, the danger came from where they did not wait ...
4. Door handles
Despite the fact that modern pens are usually designed to protect against bacteria, these types of products are not always effective.
And old door handles (even 5-10 years ago) pose a special danger in the issue of the spread of bacteria. It is worth bearing this in mind, being not only in a public place, but also at home.
3. Kitchen sponge
It turns out that one of the dirtiest items in our daily routine is a dishwashing sponge. Scientists have found that there are 200 times more bacteria on it than in the toilet.
After washing dirty cups, pans and plates, a lot of food and fat remains that are invisible to the human eye, which is an excellent nutrient medium for various bacteria, among which Escherichia coli takes the leading place.
Anyone who is literally rinsed after treating with such a sponge is aware of what the risk of eating can be from dishes that are not very well rinsed: at least we are guaranteed an intestinal upset, and as a maximum - infection with a serious infectious disease, such as dysentery.
2. Remote control from the TV
The buttons of this little thing, which is practically native to many of us, constantly “polish” the fingers on which bacteria accumulate.
Therefore, if the TV remote control is not periodically treated with any antiseptic, then on its surface a “cocktail” of bacteria, parasites and fungi that is dangerous to the health of households will form, just waiting for the opportunity to “jump” into your mouth.
1. Money
The money that we pass from hand to hand every day very often causes the spread of infectious diseases.
Imagine where they just do not happen: in the hands of people infected with any bacteria, people living in unsanitary conditions, drunkards, drug addicts and so on.
It was the high contact feature of money that prompted bacteriologists to conduct their complete bacterial analysis.
The first data showed that pathogenic microorganisms on money are represented quite widely. Mycobacterium tuberculosis, causative agents of pneumonia, viral hepatitis, intestinal infections, skin and sexually transmitted diseases, meningitis and even Ebola fever were found on paper banknotes.
In addition, fungi and parasites, pathogens of various human helminthiases can “settle down” on banknotes.
It must be borne in mind that the old worn banknotes are contaminated much more, since they are in circulation longer. It is also interesting that bills of greater denomination are cleaner than small money, since they are used much less often.
Metallic money is also a lesser threat to human health, since metal for bacteria is a less favorable environment for life.
