Iraqi-British designer and architect Zaha Hadid completely destroyed the stereotype that construction is exclusively male. In 2004, she became the first woman to receive the Pritzker Prize for her achievements in architecture. Many of the beautiful buildings of Zaha Hadid have been awarded the most prestigious architectural competitions. Her designs are unique and recognizable. From the drop-down shopping center of space beauty to the Z-shaped school with a treadmill through the entire building. Zaha has become an innovator and reformer in new building solutions. Let's get to know her creations better.
The 10 best buildings by Zaha Hadid:
1
Vitra Fire Station, Weil am Rhein (1994)
Zaha presented her first completed project at 43. They became the Vitra fire station in Germany. This is a complex construction of inclined structures resembling colliding airplanes. In this project, which will remain unlike all its other creations, an impressive effect is achieved through minimal costs. For a long time the room was used for its intended purpose, however, in recent years, firefighters have moved to another building. Now Vitra is one of the most unusual exhibition complexes in Germany.
2
Science Center Phaeno, Wolfsburg (2005)
According to the editors of most-beauty.ru, this is the strangest, if unfinished, construction of the architect. Raised on thick solid cones, Faeno is a structure of serrated corners, complex curves. By its functionality, the center is a cross between a museum and a park of scientific attractions. The whole space is divided into 5 separate zones: entrance, trade, two expositions and a zone of creativity and entertainment.
3
Pavilion Bridge, Zaragoza (2008)
Inspired by the unusual lines of the world of flowers and waterways, Hadid designed this magnificent 280-meter bridge over the Ebro River from fiber optic reinforced concrete. Divided into pedestrian, car and exhibition areas, the bridge has been connecting La Almozara with Expo Zaragoza since 2008. Major European publications wrote about him like this: "Here you can cross the river on foot in a magnificent and really easy way."

4
Evelyn Grace Academy, London (2008)
This £ 36 million Z-shaped school in Brixton with tunnel crossings, treadmills, and many sports fields was built in 2010. In the conditions of dense urban development, the main problem was the laconic placement of a huge complex of educational buildings. For architectural innovation, Zaha Hadid was awarded the highest award in the UK - the Stirling Prize.
5
Guangzhou Opera House, Guangzhou (2010)
“Like a stone in a stormy stream, smoothed by erosion,” Hadid herself described this building for £ 130 million, which was designed in perfect harmony with the surrounding part of the coastal landscape. Standing out as one of the most charming opera houses ever built, it has a smooth glass structure that transmits light and air. Design solutions do not spoil the acoustic potential of the building, which is very important for this building.
6
Sheikh Zayed Bridge Arch Bridge, Abu Dhabi (2010)
With its cascading arches and curves designed to emulate the gentle sway of the dunes, this 842-meter-high bridge hangs on the horizon like frozen jets of water. Named after the country's chief architect and former president, the £ 200 million structure spans the Maqtah Channel. It is best to observe the structure at night, when its frame is painted in hundreds of different lights.

The complex structure was highly appreciated by experts and architecture lovers. In the first year after opening, the museum attracted almost half a million visitors.
8
London Water Center, Stratford (2012)
In East London, Stratfort Olympic Park is perhaps the best architectural solution for Zaha.
The facility, originally built for the 2012 Olympics, worth £ 269 million, is something cosmic and massive. This cathedral has two 50-meter pools and seats for more than 2,500 spectators. Its roof in the form of a giant wave rests on only three concrete pillars, and huge windows allow you to literally "drown in the light."
9
Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, Baku (2012)
This complex with an area of 57,500 square meters in the capital of Azerbaijan received the London Design Museum award in 2014. One member of the commission called him "as clean and sexy as Marilyn Monroe's upturned skirt." A softly folded roof covers the museum, which consists of two halls - exhibition and multi-purpose. According to reports, the value of the property is $ 250 million. Human rights groups criticized the project for forcibly evicting families from their homes while clearing the development site.
It is noteworthy that the image of this building was used as a screensaver when downloading one of the versions of professional software for architects called ArchiCad. Graphisoft carefully selects the best photo projects for screensavers to its product.
10
Galaxy Soho, Beijing (2012)
Perhaps this is the most unusual design of the famous architect.
